Remote Field Assistant (RFA) is at the forefront of facilitating drone interactions with the environment to assist rangers.

Remote Field Assistant (RFA) is an integration of drone technology and robotics, offering a modular and cost-effective solution to the multifaceted challenges faced by rangers and other target customers. Equipped with AI-Powered algorithm, smart navigation, intelligent gripper and versatile modules, RFA is designed to assist rangers in their daily routines, such as monitoring the environment, detecting forest fire, finding illegal trespassing and logging, and deploying devices to collect environmental data and observing wildlife behaviors.

AI-Powered Algorithm

Our AI-powered algorithms integrate advanced principles such as computer vision, machine learning, path planning, and decision-making to enhance drone autonomy and functionality. These AI-enabled algorithms empower drones to perform complex tasks autonomously, such as obstacle avoidance, path planning, and target recognition. By integrating machine learning models, drones can analyze data from onboard sensors in real-time, making split-second decisions that were previously handled by human operators.

Advanced Smart Navigation

The RFA can autonomously identify and navigate towards ground targets during flight. Utilizing AprilTag recognition, the drone can lock onto specific objects and retrieve data, while an AI-driven navigation system is in development to further enhance target identification and approach without human intervention.

Intelligent Gripper System

Upon target recognition, the RFA's intelligent gripper can autonomously grasp objects. Force sensors integrated into the gripper provide real-time pressure feedback, allowing a grasping control algorithm to securely handle objects of varying materials without causing damage, ensuring precision and care in every interaction.

Versatile Modular Design

The RFA's modular design allows for the attachment of various modules tailored to specific tasks, including:

  • Intelligent Gripper
  • Obstacle Avoidance
  • Fire Detection
  • Broadcasting
  • Trash Collection

RFA can help rangers on:

  • Reducing Workload:

    a) The RFA can cut the distance rangers need to travel by at least 20%-50% and significantly reduce their physical strain.

    b) With its intelligent gripper, the RFA can perform simple tasks such as deploying surveillance devices and taking samples, reducing the manual labor required.

  • Enhancing Safety:

The RFA can be dispatched for hazardous off-trail tasks, minimizing the risks to rangers from falls or encounters with dangerous wildlife.

  • Expanding Patrol Coverage:

The drone's aerial capabilities allow for a significant expansion of the areas that can be patrolled, ensuring that even the most remote regions are monitored.

  • Increasing Patrol Frequency:

With the right modules and training, the RFA can conduct patrols as needed, or even around the clock, providing a rapid response to emergencies and the ability to deliver rescue kits or broadcast messages to those in need.

  • Minimizing Wildlife Disturbance:

The RFA is designed to conduct patrols and deploy wildlife observation devices with minimal disturbance to animals and their habitats, ensuring that conservation efforts are as unobtrusive as possible.

  • Environmental Cleanup:

With its trash collection module, the RFA can assist in collecting specific types of trash in hard-to-reach areas, contributing to the preservation of pristine natural environments.
